Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Cervical cancer awareness month is January. According to statistical data collected, cervical cancer is the number two cancer killer in women worldwide. Due to the cervical cancer awareness month campaign there has been a decrease in the deaths of women diseased. The good news is that for the most part cervical cancer deaths are preventable. Doctor Donnica Moore, a women's health expert says that we now have the technologies and we can discuss with the physicians so that they can reduce their personal risk of cervical cancer. There is a regular Pap Test through which we can be informed and diagnosed at early stages so the risk of death reduces to minimum.

Cervical cancer awareness month is celebrated to tell the women about this disease and how they can prevent themselves and how they can reduce the risks of getting into this illness. The health expert says that it is very important for every woman to talk to a doctor about her own individual risk factors as it varies from woman to woman. We now know the cause of the overwhelming majority of cervical cancer and that's the human papilloma virus and it is essential for women to know about this virus, they need to know if they are sexually transmitted and should know for sure that this disease starts around 30's. 

The cervical cancer awareness month tells the women about the symptoms and preventions that you can do before it is too late. The symptoms include abnormal vaginal bleeding and discharge, and if you are a smoker or HIV patient or taking birth control pills for 3 to 5 years then the risks are higher for you to get cervical cancer. The pap test is recommended for all women to prevent the disease and get yourself HPV vaccine immediately. Other precautionary measures include stop smoking, use of condoms during sex instead of birth control pills and reduce your sex partners.

A woman should start screening at approximately within three years after 1st intercourse or not more than 21 years of age in western countries. No matter have you taken the vaccine or not, you should go for regular screening test for your own good. Women should not only look beautiful outward but the inner beauty and health is far more important than the outer beauty. Every woman is prone to cervical cancer and it is critical for you to know about this illness to help prevent yourself from it and thats the reason for cervical cancer awareness month is.
